Dorthea Elizabeth Heldman, 92, of Orleans, IN, was lifted to be with her Lord God at about
1:16 p.m. on December 25, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.
She was born to Charles Edwin and Emily Caroline Tritle on February 10, 1932, in Bromer, IN.
Soon thereafter, she and her family relocated to Orleans, resulting in The Great Depression.

She first married Howard L. List in 1950, then married John Thomas Williams in 1975, and later married Irvin Heldman in 2002, and all preceded her in death.
Dorthea attended the Orleans school system through her education and graduated in the class of 1950. Dorthea was an amazing mom and homemaker. She drove a school bus for several years and later worked at Sears Roebuck for over 29 years. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and loved the church members like family.
Dorthea is survived by her two children, Eddie (Molly) List of Seminole, FL, and Pamela (George) Paine of Sullivan, OH; 4 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her death, her three brothers, Kenneth “Doc” Wayne Tritle, Howard J. “Joe” Tritle, and Harold V. Tritle, and one grandchild, David Lee Day, Jr.
Visitation will be held at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church, Orleans, IN, on January 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until service time. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at Noon. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Fisher, IN.
