Tragic Loss of Young Sheriff’s Deputy
The law enforcement community was struck by tragedy on July 27 when 25-year-old Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Brenten Trueblood lost his life in a motorcycle accident. The incident occurred on State Road 445, west of the I-69 ramp.
Deputy Trueblood was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital but succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving efforts. Sheriff Greg Day expressed deep sorrow for the loss, praising Trueblood’s unmatched work ethic and unique character.
The community rallied to show support, with fellow officers escorting Deputy Trueblood’s body back to Lawrence County.
