Rob Council

Eligible Precinct Committeepersons will gather at the Nat U. Hill Room of the Monroe County Courthouse on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 1 p.m. to vote in caucus to appoint pro tempore a candidate for this vacancy.

MCDP will only share statements by those candidates who have filed their paperwork with the Party Secretary.

I’m Rob Council, and I am excited to announce my candidacy to represent our community as a county council member. As a lifelong resident of Monroe County, I have deep roots in this area, and I am passionate about making it a place where future generations, including my own children, can thrive and prosper.

In addition to my connection to the community, I bring a wealth of experience and a diverse set of skills that I believe will benefit the county. I currently serve as a compliance officer in the City’s HAND (Housing and Neighborhood Development) Department, where I work to ensure that housing policies and programs are aligned with community needs. This role has given me firsthand experience in navigating local government systems, understanding the challenges our neighborhoods face, and finding creative, practical solutions to address those challenges.

As a State Delegate, I have a broader perspective on the issues affecting our county and our state, and I understand the importance of building relationships across different levels of government to create meaningful change. I’m a current commissioner sitting on the Commission on Aging since 2023. In this position I have shared ideas and promoted a deeper sense of community and partnership with our senior population. We collaborate with senior centers and organizations to promote active aging and education on issues affecting our seniors. I also actively participate in the Tri-North PTO, where I have worked collaboratively with parents, teachers, and school administrators to strengthen our educational system and parental involvement. These roles have allowed me to develop leadership skills and a deep understanding of how effective communication and partnerships can lead to better outcomes for everyone involved.

Above all, I am a father. Like many of you, I want my children to grow up in a community that values education, fosters opportunity, and ensures a high quality of life. That is why I am committed to working towards a future where we can all thrive—whether it’s improving infrastructure, enhancing public safety, or fostering stronger partnerships between our city and county governments.

I look forward to meeting with you all, hearing your concerns, and working together to address the challenges facing us as a county. I believe that with open communication and a commitment to collaboration, we can make Monroe County an even better place to live, work, and raise our families. Thank you for your support, and I would be honored to represent you on the county council.

Best,

Rob Council
