Greene County Emergency Management Director suggests caution when traveling for events this Sunday

GREENE COUNTY- Roger Axe, Director of Greene County Emergency Management, issued a statement ahead of the coming winter storm this weekend. He emphasized that traveling to events scheduled for Sunday could be risky:

“According to the National Weather Service (NWS), it looks like a Winter Storm is headed for Greene
County on in the morning on Sunday, January 5th. Further, we could get six to 10 inches of snow. We respectfully ask those with events scheduled for this Sunday to rethink their plans, especially
churches. We do not want to put people at risk especially our Senior Citizens who will come out for
services. However, if organizations decide to have their events, they need to please be vigilant.
The question is, “Is such an event worth putting lives at possible risk?”
