James ‘Jim’ D. Webb, 89, of Orleans, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
He was born in Orleans, IN, and was the son of Cecil and Edith (Vickery) Webb. He was a member of the Orleans Wesleyan Church and a past member of the UAW. Jim worked at Carpenter Body Works for many years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary A. (McCart) Webb, after 68 years of marriage; two children, James Bradford Webb of Bedford and Lura Leigh Sumner (Shawn) of Jeffersonville; four grandchildren, Nick (Kim), Jon, Madison and Sydney; four great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Jack Burton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Durward Webb, and one sister, Sonja Hupp.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Hester and Robert Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends are invited to visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
