CRAWFORDSVILLE – The new Franciscan Health Advanced Wound Healing Center in Crawfordsville is now open at 1710 Lafayette Road in Crawfordsville.
The facility will be open once a week on Tuesdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., by appointment only.
The advanced wound healing team at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville is a diverse group of medical experts from units and departments throughout the hospital. Team members are assigned based on patient needs, including physicians, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, dietitians, and surgery staff.
“We are very grateful to be able to bring an Advanced Wound Healing Center to Crawfordsville,” said Shari Overdorf, Franciscan Health Advanced Wound Healing Center Crawfordsville nursing manager. “This is a great service for our patients, who can now receive wound care close to home and do not have to travel long distances for this specialized care. We have an amazing team that will provide exceptional and compassionate care.”
The team of specialists at Franciscan Health Advanced Wound Healing Center Crawfordsville uses clinically proven methods to achieve positive patient results. Treatment may include a variety of traditional, medical, and surgical interventions, advanced technologies, and patient education.
In addition to treating wounds, the staff provides patient and caregiver education, helps with ordering specialty equipment, and provides on-site access to take-home wound care products. They also provide dietary screening, referral to a dietitian if needed, access to hospital support services such as radiology, laboratory, physical and occupational therapies, outpatient services, and coordination of wound treatment with other medical care.
The wound healing team works with patients and their families to create an individualized treatment plan based on needs.
