INDIANA – The National Weather Service has issued preliminary snow totals from the winter storm that swept through the region over the weekend.
According to reports, several areas saw significant snowfall from the storm, which affected local communities on Sunday and Monday. Bedford and Mitchell were not listed on the map.
- Avoca in Lawrence County reported 9.8 inches of snow by 10 a.m. on Monday.
- Oolitic in Lawrence County reported 6.1 inches of snow by 7 a.m. on Monday.
- Bloomington in Monroe County reported 9 inches of snow by 8:49 a.m. on Monday.
- Martinsville in Monroe County reported 11.3 inches at 12:02 p.m.
- Brownstown in Jackson County reported 7 inches of snow by 8:37 a.m. on Monday.
- Bicknell, located in Knox County, recorded nearly 8 inches of snow.
- Elnora in Daviess County measured 8.6 inches by 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
- Shoals in Martin County received 7.5 inches of snow, with the total recorded at 9:00 a.m. Monday.
- Bloomfield in Greene County reported 7.3 inches as of 7:00 a.m. Monday.
