At approximately 12:36 p.m., Bedford Police Officer Clay Blackburn responded to a report of a maroon van rocking back and forth in front of the residence. The complainant reported hearing screaming between a male and female inside the vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer Blackburn found the van unoccupied but learned from a neighbor that the individuals involved lived at 508 V Street.

While Officer Blackburn investigated further, Captain Lemke arrived on the scene and contacted a female, who confirmed a verbal altercation with Parker. She advised that Parker had left the area on foot, wearing all-black clothing, and was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Knowing about the warrant, Officer Blackburn began searching for Parker and found him walking near 6 1/2 Street and Q Street. Parker admitted to carrying a “chicken bone” in his pocket when questioned. Upon a search, officers discovered a glass smoking device containing a crystal-like substance, which was later confirmed through field testing to be methamphetamine.

Parker was taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. In addition to the drug charges, Parker was wanted on two outstanding warrants for theft and a petition to revoke his probation.

Parker now faces charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
