SEYMOUR – An 18-year-old Indianapolis man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at a Seymour motel two months ago.
Donta Jackson Jr. was taken into custody on January 9, 2025, and faces Level 3 felony robbery charges, according to Lieutenant C.J. Foster of the Seymour Police Department.
The incident occurred on November 7, 2024, at approximately 11:04 p.m. at Motel 6 on Tanger Boulevard. According to police, two males arranged to purchase watches at the location. The suspects allegedly fled with the merchandise while trying the watches on during the transaction.
When one of the victims pursued the suspects, one fell to the ground. Police report that when the victim caught up to the fallen suspect, the suspect brandished a firearm, causing the victim to retreat. The suspects then fled the scene.
Foster indicated that the investigation remains ongoing, suggesting authorities may still search for the second suspect.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
