INDIANA – The Old Farmer’s Almanac has released its spring forecast for Indiana, offering predictions based on solar science, climatology, and meteorology, along with 30-year rolling averages.
According to the almanac, the state will experience two distinct spring seasons depending on the region.
For northern Indiana, which falls under the Lower Lakes region (Region 6), temperatures are expected to be warmer than usual. However, rainfall will be above normal in the east and below normal in the west.
In southern Indiana, part of the Ohio Valley region (Region 7), the almanac predicts a slow start to spring. April will bring below-normal temperatures and precipitation, but the entire area will see above-normal temperatures and rainfall by May.
While The Old Farmer’s Almanac was accurate with its winter forecast for Indiana, the weather remains unpredictable, and these predictions are not guaranteed.
But The Old Farmer’s Almanac states residents can look forward to some early warmth in the north and a gradual spring thaw in the south.
