JENNINGS CO. – A wanted man was discovered hiding inside a wall cavity after a Jennings County Sheriff’s Department canine assisted in serving felony warrants at a Country Squire Lakes residence last Thursday.
Shaun Jones, 44, was arrested after police dog Creed and his handler, Deputy Max Marcoux, located him in a concealed wall compartment at a home on the 1600 block of Hollyton Court. Jones reportedly struggled briefly with both the police dog and deputies before being taken into custody.
Deputies initially arrived at the residence to serve felony warrants on Jones and Sheila Keller, 43. After announcing their presence and hearing voices inside without response, deputies forced entry into the home. While Keller was immediately arrested, Jones’s attempt to evade capture led to the search.
During the incident, deputies observed narcotics in plain view, leading to a subsequent search warrant. The follow-up search revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia within the residence.
Both suspects face additional charges related to the incident, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
