PAOLI – As Orange County Deputy Sheriff Zac Andry continues his fight for recovery in a Louisville hospital, the local community organizes a benefit dinner to support his family.

Deputy Andry remains in critical but stable condition in intensive care at the University of Louisville Hospital after being shot multiple times, including once in the head, during a traffic stop on January 3. The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. when Andry stopped to assist what appeared to be a disabled vehicle at the intersection of US Highway 150 and State Road 56. The suspect, Austin Schepers, fled the scene but was later located in Louisville on January 4, where he was killed in an encounter with law enforcement.

Green Acres in Paoli will host the fundraiser dinner on Wednesday, January 22, at 3:30 p.m. The menu features pork loin, creek baked potatoes, baked beans, and slaw. Tickets are $20 per person, with all proceeds benefiting the Andry family.

Medical professionals report that Deputy Andry, who remains under sedation and on ventilator support, continues to show a fighting spirit in his recovery process.

The benefit dinner will be held at Green Acres, 1345 West Leonard Circle in Paoli. Organizers request reservations, which can be made by calling 812-723-2110 or 812-653-9835.
