According to the Mitchell Police Department’s probable cause affidavit, Officer Garrett Jacobs responded to a domestic disturbance call from a female. The female caller reported that Banks was at her home without invitation, returning after being trespassed from the property on Wednesday, January 8th.

During the incident, Banks was loud and uncooperative. Officer Jacobs initially warned him about potential disorderly conduct charges. Officer Jacobs arranged for Banks to undergo a medical evaluation at IU Health Bedford due to Banks’ claims of a hip injury.

After hospital discharge, Banks was transported to the Lawrence County Jail, where he was booked at approximately 9:55 a.m. on charges of criminal trespass and possible disorderly conduct.

Officer Jacobs read Banks his Miranda Rights, which Banks confirmed understanding.

Banks faces a charge of criminal trespass.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
