Steven ‘Steve’ Wayne Scallorn, 68, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
Born on October 19, 1956, in Aurora, CO, he was the son of Billie Wayne Scallorn and Dolore Rae (Hammer) Davis. Steve was a 1976 graduate of Glendale High School in Glendale, CA. He married Joyce Ann (Thompson) Porter on August 13, 1981, in Columbus, IN.
Steve worked as a welder and machine operator before retiring in 2015.
Steve was an avid fisherman and loved his Lund boat. He also enjoyed working around the farm and spending time with the animals he shared with his wife. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Steve is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Scallorn of Columbus; three children, Cande (Rob) Cranfill, Ricky Porter Jr., and Erik Scallorn; four grandchildren, Jake Kiel, Alex Kiel, Lily Doty, and Rowynn Porter; a sister, Cheryl Bruno of Aurora, CO; and four nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie Scallorn & Dolores Hammer Davis, and a sister, Cindy Patrick.
Cremation was chosen, and there will be no public services.
Jon Pace and Scotty Wessel have been entrusted with arrangements at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Seymour.
