
MITCHELL- Spring Mill State Park is inviting history buffs to experience a unique event this February that explores the challenges Civil War soldiers face during the harsh winter months.

Living History and Battle Reenactment
The February 22nd and 23rd events will showcase the Pioneer Village coming alive from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.
Visitors can expect to:
- Hear a speech from Abraham Lincoln: A reenactor portraying Abraham Lincoln, courtesy of Lawrence County Tourism, will deliver a captivating speech at 12:45 p.m. inside the Gristmill on both days.
- Witness a thrilling winter battle reenactment: Don’t miss the highlight of the event – a reenactment of a Civil War tactical battle at 2 p.m. each day. At 1:45 p.m., guests will be guided to designated viewing areas to safely observe the fight for control of the village.
- Immerse yourself in the era: Before and after the reenactment, explore the Pioneer Village, interact with reenactors portraying soldiers, and warm yourself with the crackling fires.

Park Admission and Information
- Park entrance fees are $7 per vehicle for Indiana residents and $9 for out-of-state visitors. Annual Entrance Passes for 2025 are also available for purchase.
