WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) introduced the Border Security is National Security Act. The bill authorizes $10 billion additional Department of Defense resources to bolster border security, support DHS, and fulfill President Trump’s top campaign promise.

“For four years, Joe Biden allowed terrorists, drug traffickers, and violent criminals to invade our country and infiltrate our communities. My bill gives President Trump critical funding for the military to help secure our border and deport millions of illegal immigrants. This is a matter of national security, and Congress must help the President get the job done.”
Funds in the Border Security National Security Act will be used for
- Installation of border barriers, including walls and fences to secure our border
- Military pay for both National Guard and Active-Duty deployments
- Military surveillance systems, autonomous towers, and vehicles for our troops

President Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan, emphasized the urgency of this funding, saying, “Congress needs to come to the table quickly and give us the money we need to secure the border.”
