BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington will temporarily close the intersection of East 3rd Street and the 45/46 Bypass/College Mall Road overnight for final repairs following last week’s water main break.
The closure will occur from 10 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, until 7 a.m. on Thursday, January 30.
While emergency repairs were made immediately following the break on January 24, additional work is required to restore the road to its original condition. During this time, the intersection will be closed except for right-turn lanes, which will remain open.
“We are grateful to our hardworking Utilities, Public Works, and Public Safety teams who responded swiftly to this water main break, ensuring that Bloomington residents could get back to normal as soon as possible,” says Mayor Kerry Thomson. “Their dedication, often in tough conditions, keeps our city running smoothly.”Residents are encouraged to use alternate routes during the closure.
