Daviess County implements 10-ton load limit on county roads

DAVIESS CO. – The Daviess County Commissioners have announced a 10-ton weight limit on all county roads, effective Monday, February 3rd. This restriction will remain in place until further notice.

What does this mean?

  • Vehicles with a gross weight of more than 10 tons are not permitted on county roads unless they have a permit
  • The permit authorizes the vehicle to haul on a designated route
  • The permit can be obtained online at daviess.org or picked up at the Daviess County Highway Department
  • Signs will be posted on roads with the load limit

The limit was implemented to preserve the county’s roads and highways

The Daviess County Highway Department advises that load limit permits are available online at daviess.org and can be obtained in person at the highway department.

These permits authorize vehicles exceeding the 10-ton limit to travel on county roads.

Further details regarding the permitting process and specific vehicle allowances can be found on the county website or by contacting the highway department directly.
