OOLITIC – Dollens Elementary will be closed on Friday, January 31, due to a significant number of illnesses among staff and students. Currently, 11 faculty members and 24% of the student body are affected.
According to officials, the North Lawrence Community School (NLCS) district does not have sufficient available staff to maintain a safe and effective learning environment. Additionally, the NLCS shuttle from Needmore Elementary to Dollens will not be running. If your child relies on NLCS transportation to or from Dollens, please make alternate arrangements.
The district emphasized that the health and well-being of students is a top priority. Parents and guardians are encouraged to ensure that children rest, recover, and follow necessary health precautions to prevent further spread of illness.
Dollens Elementary is expected to reopen unless additional notifications are made, as scheduled on Monday, February 3.
