INDIANA – A recent survey by Mixbook, a photo book company, has revealed the best locations across the United States to witness a winter sunrise, with Hemlock Cliffs in the Hoosier National Forest taking the top spot for Indiana. The survey, which polled 3,123 respondents, highlighted unique locations across the country, from snowy mountain passes to serene coastal shores.

While Hatcher Pass in Alaska topped the national list, Indiana boasted four locations among the recognized spots. Hemlock Cliffs, praised for its towering sandstone cliffs, frozen waterfalls, and frost-covered ferns, ranked #68 nationally and #1 in the state.

Other Indiana locations included Indiana Dunes National Park (Mount Baldy) at #69, Turkey Run State Park at #79, and Brown County State Park at #86.
Mixbook’s survey highlighted the unique beauty of winter sunrises, noting the vibrant colors and cozy family moments they inspire. Experts suggest that winter sunrises and sunsets can appear more spectacular due to how light interacts with the atmosphere during this season. The shorter days also make it easier for families to enjoy these natural wonders together.
