BROWNSTOWN – A contracted kitchen employee at the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown has been arrested on multiple felony charges after allegedly engaging in sexual misconduct with an inmate and attempting to smuggle contraband into the facility.
Ann M. Sebastian, 54, of Crothersville, was taken into custody Thursday following an investigation sparked by a tip to the Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Rick Meyer, Sebastian admitted to the allegations during questioning and was booked into the jail on four counts of trafficking with an inmate and sexual misconduct.
Lt. Adam Nicholson and Jail Commander Chris Everhart assisted Sheriff Meyers in the investigation.
The investigation, which included a review of video surveillance footage and statements, revealed Sebastian had sexual contact with an inmate and attempted to bring contraband into the facility. The charges include Level 5 and Level 6 felonies, which carry potential sentences of one to six years and six months to two and a half years, respectively.
Sheriff Meyer indicated the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges or arrests may follow.
