Constellation opens enrollment for Summer Camps and returns Improv for Adults: Summer All-Play

BLOOMINGTON – Constellation is excited to announce the launch of its summer camp enrollment for students in grades 1-12, featuring a diverse lineup of theater, comedy, film, and musical theater camps. Alongside returning favorites like Broadway Bootcamps and Movie Camps, the organization is introducing brand-new two-week musical theater camps where young performers will bring a musical to life from start to finish.

This year’s camps run from June 2 through July 25 and will be hosted at various downtown Bloomington locations, including Constellation Studios, the Constellation Playhouse, and the Waldron Arts Center. Constellation’s programming is designed for a range of age groups: Littles (rising grades 1-3), Kids (rising grades 4-7), and Teens (rising grades 8-12). In addition to the camps for younger performers, Constellation will bring back Improv for Adults: Summer All-Play, a weekly comedy class for adults.

New Musical Theater Camps for Kids and Teens

Constellation is introducing exciting new two-week musical theater camps for kids and teens this year. For younger campers (rising grades 4-7), the camp will dive into the whimsical world of Into the Woods Jr., a musical by Stephen Sondheim. Teen campers (rising grades 7-12) will explore Stephen Schwartz’s classic, Godspell. Both camps will guide students through the complete process of putting on a musical—from casting and learning music to choreography and final performances. The camps will culminate in showcase performances in front of a live audience. Debby Jenkins, an experienced musical theater educator with extensive expertise in music direction, will direct these camps.

Improv for Adults: Summer All-Play Returns

For adults, Constellation is bringing back Improv for Adults: Summer All-Play, an expanded version of their popular improv classes. Running Tuesdays from June 3 to July 22 (excluding July 1), this class welcomes improvisers of all experience levels. Students will develop core improvisational techniques while enhancing communication, collaboration, adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Summer All-Play is designed to be a fun, supportive, and welcoming environment where participants can learn while having a blast.
