Walter ‘Dale’ Tolbert, 77, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on September 5, 1947, to Hollie and Hazel (Danner) Tolbert in Bedford. Dale had worked at NWSC Crane and was a security guard at Hardin Ridge. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Surviving to cherish Dale’s memory are his three daughters, Louisa Jean Ely, Stacie (Anthony) Ratliff, and Jessica Brown; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Samantha, Jada, Kiley, Kody, Kenlee, Michael, Matthew, and Adam; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Bud (Pam) Tolbert; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded Dale in death: one great-granddaughter, Margaret; one sister, Ruth; and one son-in-law, Stacey Ely.
Cremation services were chosen, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes of Bedford has been entrusted with Dale’s care and services.
