Martin County implements 10-ton weight limit on roads

MARTIN CO. – The Martin County Commissioners have announced an immediate 10-ton weight limit on all county roads. This restriction will remain in effect until further notice.

The decision comes as neighboring Daviess and Knox Counties have also implemented similar weight restrictions to protect roadways from damage caused by the current freeze-thaw cycle. These conditions can weaken road surfaces, making them more susceptible to damage from heavy vehicles.

County officials are urging all drivers to comply with the posted weight limits. Adherence to these restrictions will help preserve the quality of county roads and prevent costly repairs. The Commissioners appreciate the public’s cooperation in this effort.
