BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Commissioners tackled several facility needs at their Tuesday morning meeting, approving HVAC repairs, landscaping, and high-speed internet contracts.

Commission President Rodney Fish announced that the courthouse HVAC system requires significant work. “The unit is not operational and will require a new compressor. It has other issues,” Fish explained. The commissioners approved a contract with Harrell-Fish Incorporated for the repairs, totaling $12,850.
Beautification efforts will also be underway at the courthouse. The commissioners signed a $7,700 contract with Spice Valley Landscape & Garden Center for landscaping work around the courthouse. This amount will be paid in two installments.
Finally, the courthouse, courthouse plaza, and the Sheriff’s Department will see an upgrade to their internet service. The commissioners approved a contract with Smithville for high-speed internet, providing 300 Mbps for a monthly cost of $775.
