
DAYTONA, Fla. – Mitchell, Indiana native Chase Briscoe secured the pole position for Sunday’s 67th running of the Daytona 500.

Briscoe’s 49.249 seconds and 182.745 mph lap was faster than Austin Cindric and Ryan Preece in the all-important second round. This is Briscoe’s first Daytona 500 pole and Toyota’s first ever.
Briscoe will be making his first NASCAR Cup Series start for Joe Gibbs Racing. Austin Cindric of Team Penske will start second alongside Briscoe after a qualifying lap of 182.463 mph.
