INDIANAPOLIS— Advocates with the American Heart Association will visit the Indiana Statehouse on Monday to meet with lawmakers about policies that will help Hoosiers live longer, healthier lives.

Among the American Heart Association’s priorities this session is passing Cardiac Emergency Response Plans for schools to ensure that every school has a plan and resources to respond to cardiac emergencies during the school day and at extracurricular events.
A second priority for the Association is to create a statewide stroke registry, which would ensure the collection of comprehensive stroke data to help identify gaps in care, support the implementation of best practices, and ultimately reduce the burden of stroke across the state.
During the event, the Association will offer free Hands-Only CPR training and a “F.A.S.T.” experience that simulates the symptoms of stroke.
