James Martin, 75, of Bedford, passed away at his residence on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 9:48 a.m..
Born on October 9, 1949, in Bedford, he was the son of John and Edna Turpin Martin. James was a part of the Medora Masonic Lodge Number 328, F&AM, and a Marine veteran. He graduated from Heltonville High School with the class of 1969 and was an avid deer hunter. James worked as a machine operator at General Motors in Bedford.
Surviving to cherish the memory of James is his wife, Lynette Martin; daughter, Jaime Lynn (Bryan) Hutchinson; Grandchildren, Jolee Young, Landon Young, Macy Hutchinson, Layton Hutchinson; and his brother, Bob (Paula) Martin.
Preceding James in death were his parents, James and Edna Martin; son, Joey Martin; and brothers, Jerry Martin and Jack Martin.
Funeral services for James Martin will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford, with Minister Luke Stultz officiating. Masonic Rites will be held before the start of the service and Military Rites will be accorded by the Honor Guard of the Gillen Post #33 of the American Legion immediately following the funeral. Burial will follow at the Leesville Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., also at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel in Bedford.
