Single-vehicle accident on North White River Road

CAMPBELLSBURG – On Tuesday, February 18, at approximately 8:19 a.m., emergency services responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 5000 block of North White River Road.

Upon arrival, first responders found a maroon 1999 Ford Ranger on its side off the west side of the road. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Jackson Layo of Campbellsburg, was briefly trapped inside the vehicle. A passing motorist assisted Layo in exiting the truck through the windshield. Layo was not injured in the incident.

Layo said he was traveling northbound on White River Road when he lost control of the truck due to road conditions. The vehicle slid off the west side of the roadway, rolled onto its side, and came to rest against a tree.

Sheriff Brent Miller is the lead investigator for the accident. Members of the Campbellsburg Volunteer Fire Department and the Washington County Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
