
SALEM – On Tuesday morning, a two-vehicle crash on Becks Mill Road sent one driver to the hospital. At approximately 7:15 a.m. on February 18th, emergency services were dispatched to the 4357 block of Becks Mill Road following a collision involving a 1999 Toyota Tacoma and a 2018 Polaris UTV.
Upon arrival, deputies found both vehicles still at the scene, blocking the roadway.

Preliminary investigation, including driver statements and evidence at the scene, indicates that 19-year-old Asher Elrod of Vallonia, Indiana, was traveling southbound on Becks Mill Road, while 60-year-old Brian Gream of Campbellsburg, Indiana, was traveling northbound. Elrod’s truck reportedly slid left of center on the snow-covered roadway and collided with the left front corner of Gream’s UTV.
Gream was extricated from the UTV by members of the Salem Fire Department and subsequently transported to the University of Louisville Hospital by the Washington County Ambulance Service for treatment of his injuries. Elrod was not injured in the crash.
Captain Joe Keltner leads the investigation, with assistance from Lt. Wayne Blevins, the Salem Fire Department, and the Washington County Ambulance Service.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
