German American Bank highest-ranked bank serving Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio

INDIANA—German American Bank has been ranked second in the nation on Forbes 2025 America’s Best Banks list and is the highest-ranked bank serving Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. Each year, Forbes evaluates the 200 largest publicly traded banks and thrifts by asset size (German American Bank was 142nd in size) and then ranks the top 100 financial performers.

“We are incredibly proud to be ranked the #2 bank in the country on this prestigious Forbes list,” said Neil Dauby, Chairman and CEO of German American Bank. “This recognition is a testament to our entire German American team of professionals who are passionate, dedicated, and work hard daily to support each other, our customers, our communities, and our shareholders.” Dauby added, “Such an exceptionally high ranking demonstrates our Company’s financial focus, strength and stability.”

To achieve this status and #2 ranking in America’s Best Banks, ten equally weighted metrics measuring growth, credit quality, and profitability were examined for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2024, and stock performance for the 12 months ending Jan. 10, 2025. Forbes does the rankings separately, and S&P Global Market Intelligence provides the data.
