Obituary: Minnie Sylvia (Baker) Pritchett

November 2, 1928 – February 19, 2025

Minnie Sylvia (Baker) Pritchett, 96, of Judah, passed away at 11:58 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Stonebridge Health Campus.

Born November 2, 1928, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of George and Pearl (Evans) Baker. She married Richard Pritchett on October 28, 1950, and he preceded her in death on August 2, 2012. She was a homemaker and shared responsibilities with her husband at Pritchett Brothers Construction. She attended Gulletts Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren, spending time with the family, traveling the world with her husband, and playing dominos.

Survivors include three sons, Joe Pritchett and wife, Lisa; Scott Pritchett and wife, Donna Jean, and Jon Pritchett and wife, Mary, all of Judah; two daughters-in-law, Donna Jo Pritchett and Kelli Pritchett, both of Judah; eleven grandchildren, Cami and Nicole Pritchett, Shelby Pritchett, Emily Blackburn and husband, Chandler, Zane Pritchett and wife, Angie, Mallory, and Hannah Pritchett, Derek Pritchett and wife, Schylar, Kayla Roberts and husband, Andrew, Taylor Mahoney and husband, Mike, and Alex Pritchett and wife, Kelsey; seven great-grandchildren, Jake and Lily Martin, Brooks, Calum, and Ivy Pritchett, Vance Pritchett, and Ellis Blackburn; a sister-in-law, Wanda Baker; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Ron and Ed Pritchett, and five siblings: Opal Baker, Mary Wigner, Melphia Morris, Anna Jane Hall, and Marshall Baker.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22nd, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21st, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in Minnie’s memory to the Bat Cole Foundation.
