BEDFORD—The 2025 WBIW Lawrence County Spelling Bee, presented by the Lawrence County Health Department, kicked off the first of two days of competition on Monday, Feb. 24, at Bedford Middle School’s Schafer Auditorium. Local students from across the county competed to determine their school’s representative and champion, who would vie for the title of Elementary Champion, earning a spot in the final round.
The overall 2025 WBIW Lawrence County Spelling Bee Champion will be determined on Tuesday, Feb. 25, when the elementary winner faces off against champions from area schools in grades 6-8.
The contest begins at 4:30 p.m. on both nights, with a broadcast following the competitions at 6 p.m. on 1340 WBIW.
