FRANKLIN – Since August 2015, our mission has been to FIND, THANK, and REPAY Hoosier Vietnam Era Veterans. WHVV & community partners have held over 250 special “Welcome Home” events in ALL 92 Indiana Counties with the Indiana Vietnam Veterans Gift Program, A TIME TO HONOR book & DVD set.

This extremely successful statewide outreach program honors, remembers and preserves the memories of Hoosier Vietnam Era Veterans. A 2021 partnership with Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution has been a key component to many of these community events taking place ensuring all Indiana public libraries and high schools have a donated copy of A Time To Honor. We connect Veterans to earned benefits and resources. We have impacted over 20,000 military families!
The final “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans” appreciation event with this Vietnam Gift Outreach will be on National Vietnam War Veterans Day, Saturday, March 29th, 2025. This is the last year for the Department of Defense’s 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War.
The event will occur at the Johnson County Indiana National Guard Armory, 325 Minuteman Way, Franklin, Indiana, 46131.
It is free and open to the public.
Highlights include a luncheon, Huey Helicopter Flights provided by Columbus Indiana Huey, and a special viewing of The Journey Home documentary.
