WASHINGTON – Purdue Extension – Daviess County has announced that 4-H members planning to exhibit livestock at the 2025 Daviess County 4-H Show must complete a livestock quality care training program. This requirement can be fulfilled by attending the in-person 4-H Livestock Quality Care training or by completing the online Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training.
An in-person training session will be held on February 25th at 6:00 p.m. at North Daviess High School in the auditorium. Participants are asked to park on the football field side of the school. This training is offered free of charge.
The training is mandatory for 4-H members who intend to show beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, meat goats, dairy goats, poultry, or rabbits at the 2025 show.
While the in-person training is free, the online YQCA training will incur a mandatory fee.
Purdue Extension encourages all eligible 4-H members to take advantage of the free in-person training opportunity.
