Jasper man arrested on alcohol charges after driving erratically

DUBOIS CO. – A 55-year-old Jasper man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following an erratic driving incident on State Road 162 on Friday, February 21st.

While patrolling the area, Trooper Andrew Recker observed a pickup truck driven by Oscar Armando Flores Martinez repeatedly crossing the center and fog lines. Concerned about the driver’s erratic behavior, Trooper Recker initiated a traffic stop.

During the stop, Trooper Recker noticed visible signs of impairment, leading to the decision to investigate further. Martinez was then transported to the Jasper Police Department for additional testing before being taken to the Dubois County Jail.

Flores Martinez is facing a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor.

Trooper Jon Villanueva and officers with the Jasper Police Department assisted.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
