INDIANA– The gobble of spring is on the horizon, and Indiana’s turkey hunters are gearing up for the season. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has opened applications for reserved spring turkey hunt draw opportunities, offering hunters a chance to secure a spot in select locations.
Hunters looking to participate in these special hunts can apply for up to two listed reserved-hunting opportunities. Applications are now open and will remain so until the deadline of March 16. It is crucial to remember that all applications must be submitted online, and no late entries will be accepted.
To be eligible for the draw, hunters must possess a valid hunting license covering the specific hunt they are applying for. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they meet all licensing requirements before submitting their application.
Youth Hunting Opportunities Abound:
This spring, the DNR is also prioritizing opportunities for young hunters. Various youth-specific wild turkey hunts will be available at select Fish & Wildlife areas, Indiana Private Lands Access properties, and the Muskatatuck National Wildlife Refuge.
The youth wild turkey season is scheduled for April 19-20, providing a dedicated weekend for young hunters to experience the thrill of the hunt. Youth hunters aged 17 or younger on the hunt date can apply. However, if selected, they must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years of age.
DNR encourages all eligible hunters, especially youth, to participate in these reserved hunting opportunities. These hunts provide a unique and memorable experience, and DNR is committed to providing access to quality hunting opportunities for all.
