Jerad “Matt” Wagner was born on September 19, 1963 to Jack and Terry (Emery) Wagner. He spent a good portion of his childhood under the loving care of Donald and Patsy Foust. Matt married Julie Ann Ikerd on December 18, 1982.
Matt joined the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas from 1982-1986. Matt and Julie would have two boys, Chance D. and Chase Mathew—married to Hanna (Guthrie). Matt had three grandchildren that were his entire world—Auddie (6), Phoenix (4), and Piper (1). Matt spent the early years of his children’s lives coaching them in baseball and basketball. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and he had been an active member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church where he ran sound on Sunday mornings. He was employed at Crane from 2001-present. He loved Kentucky Wildcats basketball and the Chicago Cubs.
Matt will forever be remembered by his massive sense of humor, always spreading love to everyone he knew. He was disciplined and meticulous, and he will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him for his genuineness, willingness to help, loyalty, and dependability.
Visitation will be held at Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford, Indiana on Saturday, March 8, from 11 am-1 pm, followed directly by the funeral service. Service will be officiated by pastor Chris Combs.
