3rd annual Relive the Night Gala raises over $67k for Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services

BEDFORDThe Relive the Night Gala, held on Feb. 22, raised $67,422 for Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services (LCCPS). The sold-out gala, attended by 312 people, continues to be a significant fundraiser for the organization, ensuring all donations remain within Lawrence County to support local cancer patients.

The event featured a King and Queen competition, with candidates collectively raising $30,133. Amanda Turner was crowned Queen, while Chris Waggoner was named King. Last year’s queen, Sarah Eckstrom, traveled from Texas to pass on the honor.

Committee members for the event included Dan and Kellie Kemple, Charles and Deanna Cessna, Jennifer Diehl, Laura Turner, and Teena Ligman, who also represents LCCPS. The event was supported by local sponsors, with VFW Post #9107 serving as the Royalty Sponsor and Bedford Federal Savings Bank as the Red Carpet Sponsor.

A highlight of the evening was a tribute by the band Flatline in memory of their late friend, Danny Clipp, who passed away from cancer at age 47. Clipp had written a poem that he hoped would become a song, a wish that Flatline fulfilled before his passing with the creation of “Heaven’s Front Porch.” The band dedicated their table in his memory, as did Steve Chapman.

Rod Murphy won the Heads & Tails game and generously donated his winnings back to the cause. Entertainment was provided by DJ Cody Lamm and MC Clair Roub, who kept guests engaged throughout the night. Photographers Jenny Wray and Greyson Pope captured the evening’s highlights, while Cedar Hill Catering provided food, with Belinda’s Picture Perfect Photobooth proving to be a popular attraction.

Organizers expressed their gratitude to friends, family, and the community for their unwavering support. “This event is a success because of the generosity of our community,” said Dan Kemple, who emphasized the importance of keeping funds within Lawrence County to assist those battling cancer.

The Relive the Night Gala continues to be a cherished tradition, combining entertainment, heartfelt tributes, and community spirit in the fight against cancer.
