Groundbreaking of Wesley Foundation Student Center at Purdue University is March 28

WEST LAFAYETTE—The Wesley Foundation Student Center at Purdue will be inaugurated on Friday, March 28, at 10 a.m. ET at 124 Waldron, West Lafayette, IN 47906.

This marks a significant milestone in the Foundation’s efforts to build a new campus ministry center closer to the heart of Purdue’s residential campus.

For over 100 years, the Wesley Foundation has called 435 West State Street (Mitch Daniels Blvd.) its home. However, with the acceptance of an offer from Purdue University for the current property, the Foundation will be transitioning to the new site at 124 Waldron. The new space will feature a 34-bed student community housing complex and a vibrant, multi-functional facility to support the Wesley Campus Ministry and Purdue student community. The new building will include an elevator, making it accessible to all students.

The Wesley Foundation Student Center will include:

  • First Floor: Communal spaces, including a kitchen, dining hall, worship lounge, and staff offices.
  • Second Floor: Workspaces, a student lounge, and the Great Hall Chapel for weekly worship services.
  • Third & Fourth Floors: Covenant community residential living for 34 college students

The Wesley Foundation has always been a place for all students, regardless of faith, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or neurodivergence. The foundation is entirely supported by community churches, alumni, and other supporters. It continues to offer programs such as Winterization, Wesley Recreation, and Midnight Pancakes, alongside weekly worship and small group studies, all connecting students and the broader West Lafayette community.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be an excellent opportunity to celebrate this next chapter, and the entire community is invited to join.
