INDIANA – Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales delivered remarks at the Northern and Southern Indiana Clerks’ Conferences within the past week.

Last week, Secretary Morales spoke at the Northern Clerks’ Conference in Fishers, and today, he spoke at the Southern Clerks’ Conference in Evansville. Secretary Morales emphasized the importance of election legislation and the ongoing partnership between the Secretary of State’s Office and county clerks throughout the state.

The conferences, which gathered county clerks and election officials from across Indiana, focused on critical updates and collaborative efforts to strengthen Indiana’s election system. Secretary Morales highlighted several key pieces of election-related legislation and initiatives, including efforts to secure funding for the modernization of the Statewide Voter Registration System (SVRS). The Secretary of State’s Office strongly believes that ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our elections is vital and a key component of doing that is the SVRS.
The Secretary of State reaffirmed their dedication to a continued partnership with local election officials and clerks, stressing that the collective efforts of the state and local offices are critical in fostering confidence in the electoral process.
“After speaking at the County Clerks’ Conferences, I am even more encouraged by the dedication and professionalism of our Hoosier County Clerks and local election officials. The continued partnership between the Secretary of State’s Office and county clerks is vital to maintaining the trust and integrity of our elections. We are committed to providing county clerks with the necessary tools and resources. Indiana stands as a model for how election administration should be done, and we will continue to lead the way in setting the standard,” said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State.
The Northern and Southern Clerks Conferences serve as an important platform for Indiana’s election officials to exchange knowledge and discuss best practices to improve the state’s election system.
