Strengthening public safety by funding additional deputy prosecutors

STATEHOUSE – An Indiana House Republican agenda bill to strengthen public safety passed the House and now moves to the Senate.

Indiana currently needs an additional 440 Prosecutors, and more than half of Indiana counties have fewer than one lawyer per 1,000 residents, which meets the American Bar Association’s threshold for a legal desert.

Representative Chris Jeter, of Fishers

State Representative Chris Jeter says a House Republican agenda bill he authored would provide additional funding for deputy prosecutors across the state to strengthen public safety.

The bill prioritizes funding for deputy prosecutors to help uphold the rule of law and keep Hoosiers safe.
