
LOOGOOTEE—Allen Wiscaver, owner and operator of Humble Dawgs & Catering, was arrested on a warrant by Martin County Sheriff Deputy Nash on Thursday, March 13.

Wiscaver is facing a charge of unlawful employment near children by a sexual predator, a Level 5 Felony.
Wiscaver is accused of operating his catering business inside the Loogootee Public Library after being hired by an agency using the library as a training location. Wiscaver has multiple convictions for sexual misconduct with a minor that has made him a sexual violent predator in Indiana. Since then, he also has had numerous convictions for violating the conditions of being a sexual violent predator. Wiscaver is being held without bond in the Martin County Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office in every county supervises all of the sex and violent offenders that work or live in the county. In 2024, we experienced a record of nearly two dozen violations by registered sex offenders resulting in criminal charges in Martin County. This increase comes from multiple directions. Public tips, technology, and increasing from one to two deputies to manage and supervise offenders. Unfortunately, these offenses continue to rise at alarming rates nationwide, even in small rural towns. In just the past few hours, officers have detained a Loogootee resident for multiple sexual related and human trafficking charges, along with locating and securing an unrelated juvenile in Florida from Martin County that went missing with a man from Florida overnight.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
