ORLEANS – Cleanup efforts are ongoing in Orleans today as the town recovers from the EF-1 tornado that struck early Saturday morning. Orleans Town Crews and contracted workers have diligently worked throughout the weekend to clear downed trees, limbs, brush, and other debris left in the storm’s wake.

Town officials anticipate the cleanup process will take several more days to complete and are asking residents for their continued patience.
A large dumpster has been placed at the Town Garage to assist residents with debris disposal. Between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., storm-related debris (excluding limbs and brush) can be brought to the dumpster. This service is exclusively for Orleans residents.
Due to the significant volume of tree debris throughout the town, residents who can do so are encouraged to transport downed trees, limbs, and brush to the town lake brush pile for disposal. The gate to access the brush pile will remain unlocked for the cleanup. It is crucial to note that only trees, limbs, and brush will be accepted at the lake site; no other discarded items will be permitted. The lake site is under 24/7 surveillance.
Town officials are grateful for the community’s cooperation and understanding as they work to restore Orleans to its pre-storm condition.
