Workers’ Compensation Conference to spotlight compliance, cost savings

CARMEL — The cost of a work-related injury – factoring in medical expenses, wages, and the challenges of reduced productivity – is roughly $40,000. An upcoming Indiana Chamber of Commerce event aims to equip businesses with strategies to help prevent injuries and maintain low workers’ compensation premium rates. The 2025 Indiana Workers’ Compensation Conference will take place April 23 in Carmel with a virtual attendance option.

“Regardless of an employer’s industry or size, keeping workers safe and cutting avoidable costs is top of mind,” remarks Indiana Chamber President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders. “The Indiana Workers’ Compensation Conference will provide a comprehensive set of tools to help employers accomplish both those goals.”

Law firm Kightlinger & Gray, LLP presents the conference.

Among topics are managing your experience modification factor for a better insurance premium, demystifying state forms and how to draft them, handling workers’ compensation claims from injury through litigation, detecting mental and emotional pitfalls in the way of recovery, best practices for effective employee handbooks and navigating real-life fact patterns in workers’ compensation.

The event will also include a roundtable discussion with Kightlinger & Gray attorneys, an overview of the Worker’s Compensation Board of Indiana website, and instructions on accessing resources. Registration costs $449 for Indiana Chamber members and $549 for non-members. Companies sending two or more attendees can receive a 20% discount at checkout by using the promo code GROUP20.
