Obituary: Maxine Lee

November 5, 1949 – March 16, 2025

Maxine Lee, 75, of Seymour, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Seymour’s Covered Bridge Health Campus.

Maxine was born on November 5, 1949, in Salem, IN. She was the daughter of Ray and Della (Bailey) Jackson. She was a 1967 West Washington High School graduate in Campbellsburg, Indiana.

After high school, she worked as a CNA in Salem and at Hampton Health Campus in Hanover for many years. She greatly enjoyed shopping, gardening, and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Maxine is survived by her sons, Robert Ball of Pekin and AJ (Amy) Wheeler of Salem; three grandchildren; three sisters, Fayetta Cromer of Salem, Jan (Larry) Kaplinger of Seymour, and Ruth Freed of Brownstown; five brothers, Paul (Sharon) Jackson of Iowa, Harold Dean (JoAnn) Jackson of Pekin, Danny Lee (Shelly) Jackson of Campbellsburg, Ray (Angie) Jackson Jr. of Hanover, and Michael Jackson of Campbellsburg; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Della Jackson; one daughter, Julie Ann Ball; one sister, Shirley Cozart; and one brother, Ralph Wayne Jackson.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jon Pace and Scotty Wessel at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Seymour.
