Poland man arrested for child solicitation/ molestation

CLAY CO. – Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information that a female under the age of 14 had been molested.

The investigation revealed that Thomas Edenfield Jr., 42, of Poland, Indiana, allegedly molested a female under the age of 14. He was arrested on charges of child molesting, vicarious sexual gratification of a victim under the age of 14, child solicitation under the age of 14 to engage in fondling/touch, and possession of child pornography.

After reviewing the investigation, the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office requested an arrest warrant for Edenfield. Clay County Circuit Court granted an arrest warrant on March 13, 2025. The U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested Edenfield over the weekend without incident. He is held in the Clay County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
