Bridge work planned on State Road 258 in Jackson County

JACKSON CO. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Ragle, Inc. will begin a bridge rehabilitation project on State Road 258 over East Fork White River Overflow just west of the East Fork White River on or after Tuesday, April 1, in Jackson County.

Work at this location will take place approximately 2.7 miles west of State Road 11 between Seymour and Cortland and is expected to be complete in early July, weather permitting. Temporary traffic signals will be utilized while work is in progress, and signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of construction.

As part of this contract, an additional bridge rehabilitation project will take place on S.R. 258 between Cortland and Seymour following this work. INDOT will provide further information at a later date. 

This work is part of a $1.9 million contract awarded to Ragle in September 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, be cautious, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
