BEDFORD— The crack of the bat, the cheers from the dugout, and the thrill of a close play at the plate — it’s almost softball season in Bedford! The Bedford Softball Association is now accepting sign-ups for the 2025 summer league, and local players are eager to hit the field once again.
Registration is open until April 16, and all fees and completed rosters must be submitted by that date. Once the deadline passes, rosters will be locked — so don’t miss your chance to join the fun! Teams may add new players with board approval starting Monday, June 2.

Longtime league participant Leah Carnes, who has been playing since 2016, said the league is more than just a game — it’s a chance for the community to reconnect.
“Playing in this league is a great way for the community to get out and meet new people,” Carnes said.
At one point, the league boasted over 40 teams. Carnes hopes this season will help “bring the softball community back to Bedford.”
The excitement officially kicks off with the coaches’ meeting on April 29 at 6 p.m. at the Wilson Park Shelter House. League schedules will be handed out at that time, and the season will begin on May 5.
The league offers several divisions of play:
- Men’s and Women’s: 10-game schedule and tournament — $650
- Coed and Church: 8-game schedule and tournament — $525
- Fall League: 8-game schedule — $475
Please make sure your roster is properly filled out and complete before submission—incomplete rosters will not be added to the schedule. The team coach must pick up the fall league schedule at the Parks Department Office, 1625 Q Street.
