Lori Beth Willhardt, 64, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at her residence.
Born November 23, 1960, in Duluth, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Elmer and Eva Grace (Sargent) Rahlf.
Mom. Grandma. Aunt. Navy Mom. Snack Queen. Cow Collector. Dog Mom.
To say Lori was a proud mother and grandmother would be an understatement. She raised three amazing kids—Alex, Jayse, and Cate—and then unofficially adopted Joe, her favorite son-in-law (she made that part very clear). When Lori loved you, you were family—no questions asked.
She was the proudest grandma to Kaycee, Bentley, Kinley, Parker, and Marci—but don’t you dare forget her nephews and nieces who were loved just as fiercely.
She lived for bleachers, buzzer-beaters, and bases loaded. From basketball to baseball, football to volleyball—if a kid she loved was playing, you could count on her being in the stands with her legendary snack bag and a loud cheer for the whole team, friends included. Everyone knew who she was, and if you didn’t, you definitely knew where the good snacks came from.
She wore the title “Navy Mom” with pride and wasn’t shy about bragging that her son was a big deal in the Navy. Every homecoming was a celebration, and every banner hung with love.
Lori had a special place in her heart (and home) for all things cows. If it had spots, horns, or udders, it probably had a place on her shelf. And nothing brought her comfort quite like her two loyal little chiweenies, Sadie and Roxie, who never left her side and gave her endless snuggles and sass.
The youngest of five, Lori now reunites with her sisters Sheryl and Cindy—and we know they’re already catching up on all the gossip and laughing like old times. Watching over Tammy and Randy now, those three are surely running heaven’s version of a front porch hangout.
Her legacy is one of fierce love, full stands, family-first loyalty, and snacks for days. Lori wasn’t always traditional, but she was unforgettable—and loved beyond words.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th at 4:00 PM, followed by a service at 5:00 PM, with a meal to follow—all at Hillcrest Church in Bedford. Come as you are, bring your stories, and help us celebrate Lori in the way she would’ve wanted: with love, laughter, and a good plate of food.
